Hello Humanoids! I am back! Sorry for the sudden end to my post last time. This time, I will make sure I have a proper ending. For this post, I am going to talk about the deception of the story: Lamb To The Slaughter. Seems rather interesting? Well read on. I will tell you what this story is about (Although not the entire story. I only got to read part of it).
Characters: Mr Maloney, Mary Maloney (Mr Maloney's Wife), Sam, Mr Maloney's detective colleagues
Mary Maloney was a perfect housekeeper and a loving wife. Her entire world encompasses her husband. She would do anything to please him. She was pregnant and these made her more beautiful than before. She was always waiting for her husband every evening by the sofa, especially on Thursday, as they always go out together for dinner.
However, one day, Mr Maloney said he was going to leave her when she was in her extreme state of pregnancy. Even though Mr Maloney cared for her wife, he was more concerned about her not creating a 'fuss' as it might affect his career. When Mr Maloney told her that he is going out alone for dinner that night, Mary Maloney revealed her 'dark' side.
From a loyal and loving wife, she became a dangerous person with a clever mind. She murdered her husband by hitting his head with the leg of a lamb. When she recovered from her senses, she was shocked at what she saw. Her brain worked quickly, giving her instructions. She quickly went to the grocer to buy some groceries. These gave the idea that she was actually at the grocery shop when the murder of her husband happened.
When she got home, she called the police. Her husband's detective colleagues came and she served them the leg of the lamb, which was also the murder weapon. The detectives did not suspect her as they knew that she was at the grocer when the murder took place. Even though Mary Maloney got away with the murder for now, we do not know whether the police or the detectives will eventually found out that she was the murderer.
So from here, we can see: Mary Maloney may be a loving and perfect house-keeper for her husband. But her planning and creation of an alibi clearly indicate that beneath the surface of the over-pleasing wife there lay an astute, sharp and a clever mind.
In the beginning, we take her as a sweet, gentle and peaceful wife. But who knows that she was a talented actress underneath. Her acts of innocence in front of the detectives are without any flaws.

So that is all for now. See you all next time!
